VISION STATEMENT
"Life is a mission and not a career, and the purpose of all our education and knowledge is so we can better represent Him and serve that mission of life in His name and toward His purposes."

Dr. Richard Garmendy: "Your electrical system is messed up! You need electrical stimulus (impulses) to your heart."; Blood pressure: 122/69; AV node & Sinus node a real risk. This causes chronic fatigue, sleep apnea (C pap machine) and you have a tendency to pass out. Tomorrow, a Boston Scientific Pacemaker will be placed in your chest via an incision under your left collar bone. Two leads go into your heart and screws are used to stabilize the leads. With a pacemaker, DO NOT EVER put a cell phone or any other electrical device in your shirt pocket. Your Boston Scientific Pacemaker will serve you well for 10-12 years.
Thursday, September 13, 2018; Dr. Garmendy 9:00 AM - Surgery - Dr. Garmendy installed a Boston Scientific Pacemaker in your chest.
Friday, September 14, 2018; Resting, Discharged from St. Mary's Hospital in late afternoon.
Three major missed diagnoses in my St. Mary's treatment:
1. They concluded I did not have a major stroke, my HIPPA records conclude I did.
2. They told me I was to receive a sleep study to assess my Sleep Apnea and C pap needs ( the level of oxygen needed during the night. It was not done (Walletectomy - in order to charge me as an out patient $6-10, 000.00, instead of as an in-patient via Medicare A.) Hence, a default level of 3.5 liters was prescribed, accelerating me toward CHF.)
3. A sleep study was done at Montrose Memorial Hospital in 2022, at which time the senior technician performing the study ask me why I didn't sue St. Mary's for the aforementioned mistakes and I told him "I didn't want to live on sewage" (A favorite quote from my Mother!").

1. FAYETTE MELLOR WHITNEY: Excerpted from his Life story as told by him.
"I was born on Armistice Day, November 11, 1919 at the home of my maternal grandparents, Frederick Willard Kingston and Loretta Cranney Kingston at Malad City, Oneida County, Idaho. After many desperate attempts to locate the Doctor on this the first Armistice Day since the end of World War I proved futile, veterans were celebrating including our family Doctor; so my sweet Mother suffered through this birth of an 11lb. 60z. baby boy. My mom has related this experience a number of times, always assuring me when she saw those chubby cheeks and round healthy body, she forgot all the pain of delivering such a large baby.
2. VIOLA CLEONE HART WHITNEY: OBITUARY - as reported by Bob Hart Whitney, (my older brother) to The Deseret News.
1919 - 2004
"Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, Cleone, 85, was reunited on Sunday, May 30, 2004, with her family and loved ones beyond the veil. Her passing was peaceful after a courageous battle with cancer and pneumonia in the loving presence of family.
Cleone was born March 1, 1919, in Thayne , Wyoming to Harry and Viola Hart. She married F. Mell Whitney on October 11, in Ovid, Idaho. Her commitment and dedication to her family and students consumed her life.
Education was the primary focus throughout her life both personally and professionally. As a single mother, and after raising her three children, Cleone received a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University at the age of 50 in 1968; followed by a Master's Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Utah. She spent her life teaching in elementary schools in Salt Lake City. After retirement, she taught one year at Brigham Young University in Hawaii.
Most of all, Cleone will always be remembered for her example, wisdom, unconditional love and kindness toward her family.
And though, we family, have lost our true North Star,
"Sail on You Wonderful Woman!"
She is survived by her sister Larna Hart Harrison, her children, Bob Hart Whitney, Kent Mell Whitney and Fayette Cleone Whitney Clark, 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grand-children.
Fumeral services will be Thursday, June 3, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Yale First Ward, 1431 E. Gilmer Dr., Salt Lake. Dedication of the grave will be Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 3:00 P.M. at the Afton, Wyoming Cemetery. Arrangements by SereniCare Funeral Directors.
3. CHILDHOOD; A STAR VALLEY WYOMING, "MORMON" BOY:
My nuclear family consisted of 5 people growing up. My father, mother, older brother Bob Hart Whitney (Born November 15, 1938) and younger sister Fayette Cleone Whitney Clark, born February 8, 1944. Although married and sealed in the Temple, my parents were divorced in 1948, when I was 8 years old. They have never pursued a Temple divorce, which gives me hope my original family unit will be together in the eternities. Until my Mission (1961-1963) being Mormon was not a major factor in my life, even though I was "active" in the Church on a social level. Being baptized at 8 years of age, but not by my father or any family member; and advanced through the Aaronic Priesthood with my friends, who were good influences on me. Not having any active Melchizedek Priesthood models in my home, or extended family; left a major void in my developing, formative years as will become more and more obvious, until my gaining a testimony of my own!
4. YOUTH; IDAHO FALLS HIGH SCHOOL:
All of my educational experiences were motivated by a desire for popularity. I didn't have to work hard in academics, so being socially accepted in any and or all different clubs, cliques or groups was important to me; but my major focus and priorities were based on athletics. Starting in Jr. High (6th,7th and 8th grades) and through my Sophomore and Junior years in High School, I was a star on the football, basketball and baseball teams. Then, in my Senior year, when all of my immaturity, self-serving and egotistical motivations could have resulted in multiple scholarship offers; especially academic and athletically. Two of my best friends returned from a year at Church College of Hawaii, needed a ride to Provo, Utah to check out "Purity Playhouse" aka BYU.
We went to Provo together and I had the first of many life altering epiphanies after two days on BYU's campus! We found housing, registered for the next semester and all decided to go on Missions! The changes I faced were life altering, to say the least, taking me years to accomplish!
5. MISSIONARY; THE WESTERN STATES MISSION: USA
I was 21years old when Elder Mark E. Peterson issued my Mission Call after turning me away in our initial interview the year prior; telling me my life's choices up to that point, certainly did not qualify me for the "Lord's Errand"! He did allow me to come in for another interview the following year. I fasted for two days prior to my next interview. HE GAVE ME A SECOND CHANCE!
Both of my Mission Presidents (Horace A. Christiansen and R. Crawford Davis) were great and inspired leaders. I had the privilege of serving as 2nd Counselor in both of their Mission Presidencies. That was the beginning of my love affair with Church service (Ministering). The only negative aspect of that invaluable opportunity , was that I only had 2 months of proselyting (actual teaching experience), 12 months of District Leadership, and the other 10 months of my Mission were spent in the Mission Home. However, the Lord did provide me with the beginning of my "mighty change of heart" via the Melchizedek Priesthood! Hence, hopefully, my unwavering commitment to Him!
6. YOUNG ADULT:
Valley Jr. College (Los Angeles Valley College), Utah State University and BYU. My first two attempts at college after high school were abject failures, resulting in 20+ hours of F's on my transcript, simply because I registered for classes and only attended when I didn't have others things I'd rather be doing. Football was my excuse at Valley JC and USU was because of my Fraternity involvement, partying etc. However, I had an experience with Dr. Leonard Arrington in a Utah History class - the text being Great Basin Kingdom , which was my initial wakeup call! He became the protypical forebearer of all of my Priesthood heroes! I saw the comparison of two ordinary farm boys from Idaho: He as a chicken farmer and me as a potato farmer. To clean up my transcript at BYU was no small feat, but being a returned missionary gave me that opportunity!
STEPHEN R. COVEY / MY B.Y.U. MENTOR WHO COUNSELED ME TO BECOME A TRANSITION PERSON; WHICH HAS BECOME MY "NORTH STAR"!
A TRANSITION PERSON - "A transition person is one who breaks - the flow of bad, the negative traditions or harmful practices that get passed on from generation to generation, or from situation to situation, whether in a family, workplace, community or whenever." The 8th Habit.
THE WISDOM LITERATURE - THE SCRIPTURES, etc.
FIRST THINGS FIRST ... Correct Principles:
LIVE
LOVE
LEARN (Lifelong)
TO LEAVE A LEGACY
"Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!"
THE AGE OF KNOWLEDGE IS NOT THE SAME AS THE AGE OF WISDOM!
7. DARLENE CHERIEE TIPPETS; JOSEPHINE KUZOV BARRIENTOS:
My lifetime of bad choices and habits repeated themselves in my first marriage. To quote Margaret McConkie Pope, Darlene and I were unequally yoked, which is not to say it could not have worked out, rather, that I was not mature enough to go the extra mile to enable it - even though my Bishop at the time (Bishop Ivan Miller of the Idaho Falls 15th Ward) counseled me against it. That sealing is still in effect too.
Josephine Kuzov Barrientos Whitney and I were maried in the San Diego Temple on May 1st, 1993. We served as ordinance workers with Bruce and Christine Olsen for 3 years, which has been the most rewarding Church Service (Ministering) experience we've had to date and wer're looking forward to repeating and improving that experience in the Wichita Temple!
8. KENT & DARLENE'S CHILDREN:
Dr. Tyler Tippets Whitney (Jane) 1997 - Atlanta GA
Adrienne Whitney 1999 - Idaho Falls, Idaho
Annmarie Ballard 2002 - (Jonny) - Fruit Heights, Utah
Brigham Tippets Whitney 2004 - (Alison) - Provo, Utah
Sarah Margetts (David) 2006 - Prosper, Texas
9. CAREER; THE INVESTMENT BUSINESS: DEAN WITTER & CO.
My investment banking career began with with Dean Witter & CO. after becoming licensed with the New York Stock Exchange as a Registered Representative and the Chicago Board of Trade as a commodities broker. Calvin Gaddis (Stephen R. Covey's Brother in law) was the Resident Vice President in the Salt Lake City Office, causing me to come back to Utah rather than choosing Dean Witter's headquarters in San Francisco, CA, or their Santa Barbara, CA office. In less than 5 years, I was offered a Vice Presidency specializing in "high end" portfolio management and "special situations". W. Mack Watkins and I were Benjamin Graham & Warren Buffet advocates, basically i.e. G.Mitchell & June Morris - Telecommunications IPO ; John Malone's Unicorn Dynasty in that industry. They received my entire allocation of that IPO (Initial Public Offering), which was in very high demand.
10. RELIGION & CHURCH LIFE:
Living in Bonneville Stake with President Russell M. Nelson, Joseph Wirthlin and Albert E. Bowen as our Stake Presidency, while we were in the Yale 2nd Ward with President Nelson's family. Getting well acquainted with the President, Danzel and their their daughters before the birth of Russell Jr. , was not only inspirational, but were indelible in his impressions on me. The personal note he presented to me upon our leaving the Ward, is among my most highly prized possessions.
11. CHURCH LEADERSHIP - KEY PEOPLE & INTERACTIONS:
"Ask for miracles and expect them." In the EPILOGUE, I'll enumerate 4 consecrational covenants which are the basis for who I am trying to become and the attempt to bridge my personal autobiographical experiences into the dual biography of Bishop N.K. & EAS Whitney as follows:
EPILOGUE; CONSECRATIONAL COVENANTS:
Come Follow Me ... on both sides of the veil ...
Provident Living .., Developing all aspects of this with David Scott ...
HOLINESS TO THE LORD ... How to become joint heirs with Christ of all the Father has ...
Regenerative Healthcare ... An idea whose time has come ...
APPENDIX 1 : THE ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST
APPENDIX 2 : JOSEPH SMITH JR.
APPENDIX 3 : BISHOP N.K. & SISTER E.A.S. WHITNEY'S DUAL BIOGRAPHY - "ordinary people doing extraordinary things" ... "A HOLY ORDER" - Andrew F. Ehat
